Extinction: a must watch movie

A  sci-fi movie that has a simple but strong story with great plot and surprisingly superb presentation. This is a story of  a family how a person has to face so many hurdles to save himself and his family. 
A great performance by Michael Penna and well supported by Lizzy Caplan and hat's off to  Erica Tremblay.

Another side of story other than human being. Every single living or non-living thing has to struggle for the existence. Just imagine we have the world of non-living people who can laugh, cry and love just like real people. What would happen if synthetic robot starts to have human like responses and emotions. There is a debate about the moral questions as synthetic android starts human like behavior and these synths become unaware that they are synths but behave like a human.

Peter, an engineer, has recurring nightmares in which he and his family suffer from violent, alien invasion-like confrontations with an unknown enemy. He has a small family with his wife Alice and two daughters. One night at the party thrown by his wife, he is obsessed with that recurrent nightmare and goes to baranda and actually finds some flying spaceships attacking the city and their apartment.

Somehow they survive and go to the basement of Peter’s factory which is safe as his nightmares signals out.

The story does not end here. We have to watch the struggle between synthetic androids verses aliens ( who are actually not) and how it ends.

GIVING IS BLISSFUL

Giving is taking and many of the times it gives us pleasure. And I always try to gain something enlightening by giving something that I have. Offering blood for someone to save his/her life is really a blissful.

Some days back, I got opportunity to save a lady by donating blood and I felt  like I wanted it for some years. It was blissful.

Twenty-five-year lady came to Gulmi District Hospital 3 days back with secondary PPH (bleeding from womb at least 24 hours after delivery). It was 3 hours west far from our hospital by vehicle. When we attended her, her consciousness was ok, blood pressure was 70/50 mmHg and pulse was fast and thready. Her vein immediately opened and the blood was sent for amount estimation and grouping. The good news was it was  common blood group that is my blood group, the B positive and the bad news was her blood pressure was going down and the bleeding had not stopped yet. She was pale and shivering. All the clots were removed and bi-manual massage was done followed by oxytocin( a drug to contract womb) in a drip via one vein and another vein was opened for fast saline water.

It was almost midnight, blood was drawn from me was transfused on her. We were able to manage stopping bleeding and replace the blood that she had lost on the way from her home.

Well next day, she was smiling and her husband was happy that she was saved.

When we serve the patients and they smile back for, that is eternal.

Thanks all the team: Doctors, paramedics, lab people and obviously nursing team.

greatest award in my medical career

What is the best award you can achieve from patient? Definitely their satisfaction..!!! Their satisfaction makes us feel proud and always energizes to serve those needy patients whenever they need. No matter how much you earn money does not make sense if you can not satisfy the patients.

Today, Unknown number asked me whether I am Dr Uttam or not. I said, ‘yes I am’ with a bit hesitation.

‘Me Suresh’s father want to talk to you.’

‘Who Suresh?’

‘He is the one whose hernia was operated by you.’

‘Oh yeah. Got you, So…???’

‘Well sir, I have something to offer you?’

‘What?!! Why?! No no no…’
I got offended without thinking much.

‘Please accept our request.’

‘What do you want to do?’

‘Just simply to offer khaada and tika.’

‘Ok but after 3 pm. Is that ok?’

‘Sure sir.’

I was off the phone.

This guy is presented to ER one week back with his son Suresh. Suresh had painful swelling on left groin which is not reducible. It was inguinal obstructed hernia with impending strangulation on left groin. It was just for 2 hours that is encouraging part to operate immediately. We planned for ER herniotomy; he agreed in no time. We did it within one hour. Operation was successful but with some doubt whether bowel is viable or not after reducing it. We keep him NPO (nothing via mouth) for 48 hours. Bowel movement was fine and started on sipping on 3^rd day of operation. He was comfortable. On 4^th day we discharged him.

Regarding charge, we mentioned it would take twelve thousands. He with his wife collected money without any utterance.

I asked him, ‘how did you collect the money?’ He replied, ‘from neighbors.’

‘What do you do for living?’

‘Labor job on wage basis.’

‘How’s it about your wife?’

‘Same she does.’ I could see his eyes full of love for his son.

‘Ok, I am gonna discount fifty percentage of charge, is it ok for you?’

He smiled back, ‘that’s better but I can pay full charge sir.’

‘I know you can do it but please do it as per my offer.’

 ‘Aright sir thank you so much.’ he was so happy that I could feel it.

He came with his wife and son to offer khada and tika. We happily accepted. His gesture showed a lot there to thank us though he could not convert it into his words. A single gesture was enough for me that was his smile on his face and that is what I want in every single patient and their relatives.

Kranti: small but beautiful

I don’t say it is superb, fantastic or great but I simply say it’s a beautiful piece for medicos and those parents who are unaware of interests of their children.

After a long wait, I was able to catch up with the ‘Kranti’ written by Dr Sudip Aryal. This novel is based on young adolescent psychology. This is really tough theme to write about by a young doc like Sudip but he did it. It’s a highly appreciable job. I finished it in one sitting that means it’s interesting and simple though. He has the capacity to present this difficult task about teenage psychology in a simple way that is the strength of this author.

All the events are familiar to the medicos like me that is another interesting part of this novel. This piece is not high level literature.The write up is very simple presented in a very catch-able way.  Kranti is a product of inter-cast relation and showing her talent in study with extracurricular activities looks scientific. Saying and doing are two different things to execute. It tries to clarify about modern view of gender equity.

 
All parents will be aware of what their children wants to be after reading this small but beautiful piece

आज म ताप्लेजुङ्गको फुन्ग्लिंगमा घोत्लिरहेछु :मान्छेको जीवन आज छ भोलि छैन / प्रसंग हो हिजोको : दुइ जना उत्साही जवान चिकित्सकको  बसको ठक्कर बाट मृत्यु / धेरै जसो पत्रपत्रिका मा पढियो दुइ जना डाक्टर को शिक्षण अस्पताल महाराजगंज को हातामा बसको ठक्कर बाट मृत्यु/  पत्रकारले चालकको चरम लापरबाहीले चिकित्सक को मृत्यु भन्ने चै लेखेनछन्/ आज त्यहि ठाउमा तिनै चिकित्सकहरुले बिरामीको सेवा गर्दागर्दै बिरामी को मृत्यु भएको भए डाक्टरको चरम लापरबाहीले बिरामी को मृत्यु भनी हेडलाइन बनाउथे/ समाचार पढ्दा यस्तो लाग्यो मलाई ति चिकित्सकको मृत्यु चिकित्सकको थिएन बल्की कुनै  बस्तुभाउ को मृत्यु भए जस्तो भान हुन्थ्यो/

हिजो  आफ्ना आफन्तको  करंग भाँचिदा रोइ कराइ बिर अस्पतालमा भौतारिदा को पीडा पोख्ने पत्रकार बन्धु आज खोइ? डाक्टरको बारे मा चरम लापरबाही भन्ने हरु कहाँ लुके खोइ कि यसमा पनि डाक्टरको लापरबाहीले गर्दा बसले ठक्कर दिएको भन्ने समाचार प्रेषण गर्दै छौ साथी हो ? जति पनि लेख पढे त्यसमा कुनै दु:ख प्रकट छैन राष्ट्र को होनहार अमुल्य जनशक्ति गुमेको मा कुनै खेद छैन/ लाग्छ डाक्टर भनेका सामान्य आयाराम गयाराम हुन् / यिनको कुनै मूल्य मान्यता नै छैन/

चिकित्सक कुनै मामुली बस्तु होइनन, यी त जनताको सेवा को लागि  आहोरात्र खट्ने देशका होनहार नागरिक हुन् /यिनको अहोरात्र खटाइले दमले आक्रान्त भएकी आमा सजिलै सास फेर्ने गरी खुशी हुदै घर फर्किन्छिन, निमोनियाले ग्रस्त बच्ची निको हुदै घर फर्किदै गर्दा आमाले  अनुहारमा मुस्कान छाउछिन्/ यिनले गर्दा हर्के बा को छोरा को फुटेको एपेन्डिक्स को उपचार हुन्छ र यिनले गर्दा नै सानी कान्छीले सुरक्षित प्रशुती सेवा लिन्छिन/

ति दुइ चिकित्सक जसले आफ्नो परिवार टाढा छोडेर आफ्नो जवानीलाई  बिरामीको सेवामा समर्पित  गरे  उनीहरु प्रति मेरो श्राद्ध सुमन/मेरो कामना छ उनीहरुको चिर शान्तिको/  

Pashupatiprasad

Well presentation of current lives of world: earthquake, son’s responsibility towards parents, chemistry between main character and a girl, relation between main character and hanuman ji. Candy crush gang and main character. The movie roams around Pashupatinath’s premises.

It is not easy to survive in this world as there are so many hurdles but we must move on till death. No one should bully, finally they have to leave this world at one time. A straight thought cannot work here.

After Talak jung vs Tulke, he created a character, Pashupati Prasad now. Wow, I found him more matured here.

It’s a simple drama presenting different verses of world well connected each other. He carries Pashupatiprasad as a naïve lad from village to a determined guy to earn money and pay back it to loaner of his parents who died in earthquake. His endeavor on the way to open heaven’s door for his parents is not easy task. He has to fight against all odds on his way.

His innocent love towards a beautiful girl cannot be undermined: it’s clean, beautiful and dedicated.
